Nava Nalanda (Santiniketan), opened its doors to a handful of students on 1st July 1991. Its founders were inspired by Rabindranath Tagore, who shone like a morning-star not only in their lives, but also in the horizon of education in India. Gurudev’s high ideals and philosophy of life metamorphosed the domain of education at Santiniketan’s Viswa Bharati and in their humble bid to emulate their idol, the founders set sail on a new voyage by setting up Nava Nalanda’s Santiniketan Department at Paschim Pally. The journey, which has successfully completed three decades, proves how a dream can actually turn into a veritable reality. Today, Nava Nalanda, Santiniketan, is a name to reckon with in the sphere of education for the outstanding performance of its students in both the Madhyamik and the Higher Secondary Examinations.
